A downloadable game for Windows

DEEP-OS is a fishing game played entirely through the medium of an old desktop screen.

The computer came from somewhere underwater. You fish from a little raft that floats on its desktop, and everything you do happens in its windows. Sort your catch in one, forge gear in another, keep an aquarium alive in a third.

Craft the right lure and the water opens into somewhere deeper. Down there the programs are crashing, the clock is honest, and whatever you haven't banked when it hits zero belongs to the deep. What you bring back feeds the next dive down.

Some fish can be caught. Some can only be bred. The machine keeps track of everything you restore.

Free demo, made by one person. There's online multiplayer if a friend brings a raft too. Press T to talk.

Install instructions

1. Download the zip and extract it anywhere.

2. Run DeepOS.exe from the extracted folder.

3. Click More info, then Run anyway.

4. That's it. The game connects to multiplayer on its own, and T opens the chat.

Your save lives in your user folder, so updating or deleting the game files never touches your progress.
